Eating up left overs from the freezer

Mrs. S has found some left over "turkey escalopes" from some buy one get one free deal. Neither of us dare look at the use by date. So they have been stuffed with and topped by chorizo, and will be served with diced parsnip and potato, roast tomato, spiced red cabbage and a bramble jus. If I'm not posting tomorrow, you will know that they were 12 years out of date.

Could be worse, i would not eat turkey twizzlers even if trey are in date xx(

The turkey escalopes are from the Co-Op so I know that they are organic, ethically sourced from free range turkeys, and no doubt Fairtrade too. I am confident that despite their appearance they are not "product of more than one country, reformed and reprocessed, and may contain animal/human products other than turkey."

They've been frozen - the use by date is irrelevant. That's why you freeze things.
i am not sure that is strictly correct - the freezing process slows down the bacteria. it is not worth the risk of being ill to save £2 or so .... but having the shoots for a couple of days is a good if you want to loose some weight.

02GF74 is spot on - it still goes off. Freezer life tends to be a maximum of 6 months.
In my youth I pushed some pate past its date (I know, I know, but I was young and naive!) - prompted 1 week off work.
Frozen meat is less risky than pate, but toxins will build up, and smell or taste is not always a reliable indicator as to whether food has gone off.
Personally I would bin it.
