Good afternoon,

These have both been listed twice before, about 30 miles South East of Birmingham

[Edit 30/4/2023] - These have just be relisted again, 3rd relist, but the Competition now starts at £150

This is not moving either

In my area and that includes Birmingham it seems that that there is little interest in 30+ year old steel even at one full tank of fuel (if you have a bit of a gas guzzler) prices.

Bye

Having bought a Woodrup this week another one's popped up locally for £200 start: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Woodrup-Road-Bike-22-inch-Frame-/325651559050

Looks decent, has 'Bramley Wheelers CC' on the top tube. Very low-geared.

I can't see this going for much, but it's hand-built and a converted TT bike. Oh, and it's out in Essex.

A Principia TT converted to flat bars, badly photographed and described as a "road bike". Currently £9 - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394619950344

And for the uninitiated Principia built some brilliant, if apparently sold at below cost price, TT bikes between 1998-2006 when they went bust. They're now in the same Danish-owned family as Raleigh. I've owned two Principia's and have regretted selling both (the Principia RSL went because it was too small and the TT2 Light because I picked up a NeilPryde Bayamo frameset cheaply and that was also a bit small).

Either he's made a big mistake or has two of these as it's also listed here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394616119319?hash=item5be0f42017:g:5JgAAOSwfjhkWnsa with a start price of £5 and no bids finishing on Tuesday. Tempting, but I think a 55cm may be a bit small at 5'11"
He's also selling the Cervelo TT bike belonging to the Zipp wheel seen in the above pic, and also a badly identified pair of Mavic Cosmic wheels in his other listings

@Jenkins - a 55cm would fit you. Mine was a 51cm and I'm 5' 8" - with TT frames the aim is to size low.

And yes, his listings appear to be all over the place. Which to me suggest they offer a cut-price purchase opportunity.

Good morning,

The two mentioned in https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/e...-know-if-you-see-something.93126/post-6962931 are still available.

They seem to be desirable, although the location is not great and postage doesn't seem to be on offer.

A Raleigh Royal, okay there is a dent in the top tube.

and

A Raleigh Competition, these are quite rare as they are 501sl tubes forks and stays and weight wise 501sl sat between 531c and 531st.

I was tempted as town and a backup to the alternative commuter bike but 6 speed and no rack eyes don't make it a great choice and of course they are old.

Bye

Ian
