When I was a teenager - young teenager - my Dad took pity on me with the Raleigh Elite they had bought me and offered to sell it and get a better bike
I ended up with a Peugeot 10 speed bike
No-one else I knew had a 10 speed bike - drops handlebars, mudguards and a narrow rack on the back
I never changed it at all except to fix stuff - left it as it was and rode all over the Wirral and beyond
Then took it to University and rode it all over Nottingham
Years later it was stolen from my garage
still miss the bike - but I suppose you get attached to stuff like that
ANYWAY - I look around from time to time to see if any like it are around - was actually looking yesterday while my wife was watching Corrie!
Saw the post aboobe about Facebook and realised I hadn;t looked there
and found this

Exactly the same as my old one except that the mudguards are much shorter - maybe even just sawn down and the bungy cord on the rack os missing
maybe a size bigger but not sure!
If could even BE my old one - not all that far from Moreton where it was knicked!!!
and just down the road from here
very tempted to go and look at it
