Love these bike with the old fashioned rear lights that everyone had
and took 2 U2 batteries

and had the lighting ability of 2 glowworms

and - in my case - were hardly ever used but when you wanted them the batteries were always dead

on a side note - my Dad told me that I had to be responsible with money
but if I ever needed batteries for the lights on my bike he would ALWAYS buy them for me
AKA - there is no excuse for riding in the dark with no lights!

Nah 'D' cell batteries.

I remember using the lights with 2 U2 Every Ready batteries

They tended to leak at the slightest excuse and wreck whatever they were in
I found that I could sometimes clean the light up with water and some sandpaper and it would work again

Looking online they seem to be the same as current D cell - is that right?

U2 is the American designation for the British 'D' cell I used a bunch back when I was a Co-op delivery boy on a bike
