They've got lots of other bikes and parts for sale as part of a clear-out before Leeds Bike Mill moves shortly.

The Raleigh is sold

Someone got a great bike for a give away price, hope its went to a good home, thats the sort of bike that would attract more admiration outside a coffee shop than new bike costing thousands and might last a lot longer.

No doubt this comment of mine should perhaps be under “Trivial things that make you annoyed …..”
but I get riled when I see a Claud Butler bike advertised and the seller spells it incorrectly as “Claude”
They are staring at the bike to photograph it and cannot get it right 😡

I always think if they can't get the name right what else is wrong in the advert

I see some adverts on NExt Door and the like

nice bikes - low price

Makes me wonder if they are nicked!!

How can you tell without it being obvious that you are checking?

It's hard too tell , I always go with my gut feeling upon meeting the seller and the surrounding areas. Ask questions and check on one of the many stolen bike registers and see if it comes up ask for purchase proof.

I bought my first ebike from an advert in the local chippy

I had been reading about them online and saw the price - looked for cheaper ones and noticed that Powacycle seemed cheap and not bad

Then saw an advert for one in the chippie - for £220!!
they were £1200 new at the time

I rang and he was a short walk away so I went to have a look
He had the manual, all the original equipment such as the charger so I bought it
He also had another one - a Giant - that was much more expensive, and he claimed he tried the Powacycle and it was too weedy so he got the Giant to replace it

so seemed OK

but I have always wondered
