Whilst I would indeed start the process immediately, I'd say that the danger is that, if the seller wants to play by the rules, then he doesn't need to recognise that the package has been lost until the Post Office have done so.

I tried to get a 6 w torch from hong kong and it never arrived so i got a refund , so now i avoid hong kong,

Came with 2 mounts ,a set of batteries and for the price is very good !

I use one with a 1 watt bike light on unlit roads and i can see fine ,you can focus the beam to suit you.

Well finaly got a refund of my hard earned pennies PAYPAL found in our favour after the tracking number that i was eventually given turned out to be totaly bogusand the seller refused to answer any calls or e-mails ( tosser) They then refunded the full amount .

That's good to hear, thanks for the update.

A colleague and I order LOADS of stuff from Hong Kong sellers on e-bay and neither of us have ever had any issues other than later than normal arrivals (particularly with the snow over christmas). If they have a high number of feedback (over 500) and it's at least 99.x% positive then you're as safe as with someone in the UK with an average amount of feedback.
