Ebike conversion

I am looking to convert my hard tail mountain bike to an Ebike
one firm won't be suitable for quick release or 12 speed but it must be road legal
ie 250 constant motor and bee pas

Kits are a slight gray area.

Kits can be bought that comply with EAPC regs, so the technical specification box can be ticked.

However, if you convert the bike yourself you yourself are legally designated as the manufacturer. The bike must then bear;

1. manufacturer’s name (ie, yours in this case)
2. maximum continuous rated output of the motor
3. maximum speed at which the motor can propel the vehicle in mph or kilometres per hour (kph)

Once all that information is visibly written on your bike (cycle manufacturers fit a plate or decal with that info) then it becomes legal.

I've used a Swytch Go kit on my tourer, and I'm very happy with it. The legal stuff is all on the motor hub.
