Pulling through
Here in Andalusia the eclipse was less complete than the UK.
If I hadn't known it was on this morning I might not have noticed anything particularly unusual but I did take a snap of my shadow looking more like ET the extra terrestrial than usual. Could this have been due to the eclipse?

Make the most of it. The next one's not until 2090
It's in the diary. I'm going to cycle to the top of a big hill to watch that one. Missed this mornings effort due to cloud cover.

This was taken on a G3. Stuck a ND8 filter on the front and kept adjusting the shutter speed until it felt about right.

Not exactly the eclipse but related to the alignment of sun and moon: it's a spring tide with over 7 metres between high and low tides. The Thames is shut and the barrier is up.

And the water level downstream was pretty high. The lass in the barrier café was concerned about the rising water. I gather it's her first spring tide at the barrier.

EDIT: I was chatting to the photographer who took this photo in the Independent.
It was obviously a successful morning's freelancing for him. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...michel-is-cut-off-from-mainland-10125010.html
