Ed Miliband cycling revelation

In a new book he reveals he didn't learn to ride a bike until his early fifties. He also considered a trike but put off due to negative press attention:

He should have gone for a recumbent tricycle.

Although, if he'd have gone for an upright tricycle, he'd have had advantage with learning to ride it.

He was probably mindful of the press coverage he got with breakfast bun eating incident so couldn't be seen riding anything unusual, like a 'bent.

My cycling history has some common points with his. I didn't learn to ride a bike until I was 12, and even then was a very nervous rider, though I rode quite a lot up until I turned 18. I then had a 10 year bikeless period, until I started commuting by bike when living in Manchester.

The interesting thing with me is that the 10 year gap seemed to cure my nervousness, and I took to the bike with much more confidence, so he is not the only one.

That would of been interesting. I can imagine how the instructions might have gone, 'No turn to the left, the left I said'.
