Ride softly and carry a big water bottle should be the OPs motto. Well done. Be prepared for the PC brigade to tell you you shouldn't have done that (like it matters...)

I read that and considered carrying a reserve bottle of "Jonny-Juice"...but then thought about the consequences if mixing up the bottles.

Its drinkable, and besides, its full of electrolytes. Don't worry, just do it!

can i quote this from one of BM's you tube clips...

This driver overtakes me aggressively, approaching from behind with such speed that I feel forced to dive left out of his way. Such a stupid and pointless overtake too

and then this from "his" 30mph overtake...

Didn't hear anything this time, although I often hear an "OH F***!!!" on rides when passing people. And I certainly wasn't going to let him know I was coming either.

verdict... cock

Can you talk like that to my face, and would you do that in front of your mother?

The "OH F***" comments usually result because the overtaken cyclists rely on their hearing instead of looking. That doesn't work when it's not a car overtaking, but a relatively quiet bicycle. You can't blame me for their surprise, it's no different to pedestrians relying on their hearing and stepping out in front of cyclists.

Oh, and the 30mph overtake was on the flat, not downhill.

Actually, I can understand why Mike might not be so keen to post his video (if he has one) publicly.

While pretty much everyone agrees that what Mike did was justified and down right brilliant, if a video of such an act was posted online it might be frowned upon by the authorities, rightly or wrongly.

If I had done what Mike had done (and I haven't!) I'd probably not make the video public.

Speaking in an Official Capacity, If BM did post a video of said altercation, he would be leaving himself wide open to ending up getting knicked for assault. He can't claim self defence, as he admits to retalliating some time after the initial incident. BM is right to keep the video to himself as it wold only be a matter of time before his victim found said video and reprted him to the cops...

That's what I thought. Of course there is nothing to stop him sharing it with a few trusted friends....;)

There is no video chaps. I failed to hit the record button, and like magnatom says, even if there was video I wouldn't be putting it up.

I'm no better than they are really, except I don't go around randomly throwing eggs at people.
