Eggs & bacon, bacon & eggs

Which is it? Does one sound 'right' to you, but the other not? I was suddenly struck by the fact that either way round sounded ok to me. Most such twins have a 'right' way round. You wouldn't say chips & fish, or veg & fruit. But for some reason, eggs & bacon (or bacon & eggs) seems to break this rule. Or does it?

Well point, good made. The Dutch get their twin things wrong. They say pepper and salt instead of salt and pepper, veg and fruit instead of fruit and veg, demand and supply instead of supply and demand, safety and health instead of you get the picture.

Good one! But eggs and ham gets 18,000 more hits in the Google corpus of the English language than ham and eggs. Perhaps to do with the Dr Seuss book, Green Eggs and Ham.
