Rare to see Accy behind the wheel. He must've given his chauffer the day off.

Not removed, but moved, a couple of things that have changed.

- dip switches, used to be on the floor, next to the clutch. Easy to operate with your foot and kept your hands on the steering wheel.
- indicator/dip stalks, used to be on the right. Which meant you could change gear and indicate at the same time. We had a Japanese car 30 years ago and the stalk was on the right, the same as UK cars. But it's all changed to fit in with the countries that drive on the wrong side of the road.

WHen I got this car I spent a while going through the menus trying to switch as many warning beeps off as possible

basically it went beep and you had no clue what on Earth it was on about so you could easily end up looking all over when without them you would probably have seen it anyway but didn;t as you were glancing at the dashboard and all round the car looking for flashing lights

Clement Freud was telling a story of treating himself to a new BMW. An alarming looking warning light had come on, so he limped along at 30mph listening for a ghastly crunch to start but eventually got home. Before phoning the garage the next day he read through the rather substantial manual only to find the issue was "headlamp washer fluid low"

I recall an episode of Horizon perhaps 30 years ago, about all the bleeping alarms in aircraft cockpits. Apparently they were undermining safety by crying wolf all the time.

Maybe some car features should only become available to drivers who have high Social Credit Score.

As opposed to Financial Credit Score as demonstrated by a willingness to keep "subscribing" to allow functions of "their" car to keep working

and by the Financial ability to only possess a car that is under x years old - x being decided by the manufacturer???
