Electric pumps

I don't intend to carry when riding, purely as a replacement for track pump at home and when travelling.
As I said, I've got a Topeak micro rocket which I have on bike for punctures.

Well, my mega capacity track pump takes about 20 seconds to fully inflate my 700x 45 tyre.
The battery operated compressor I have likely takes at least 2 minutes.

Time not an issue though at home. And as I'll say again (3rd time?), a small electric pump handy to travel with in bike box.

It might be better to get a used one that came with an old car

Cars have had one supplied automatically for some years - so there are a lot of them on the used market

so - a cheap main to "cigarette lighter" convertor and you have one for home use

Decent shout. Would need a presta adaptor as well but no drama there. They are a fair bit chunkier though than the bike specific ones which be a negative for travel.

Anyway. I'll see what the one is like when it arrives.
I've also ordered spares for my track pump so if I can repair that then I'm well covered.

Just remember that these are high power devices so you must get the puncture fixed the very first time.
Otherwise you are immediately in battery anxiety territory.

I was about to resort to also carrying a battery pack until I then realised the stupidity of it all.

I've been surprised how much charge mine holds despite being tiny (Id get 4 attempts, it wouldn't have to be 1st time) and I've never had to resort to my mini pump or CO2 which I also carry. For the tiny size of it and convenance carry the USB pump in my pocket is a no brainer to add it to my kit.

Yes, I probably got 4 on my road bike though not so on the ebike.
Luckily, the bullet proof tyres I now use makes the pump an afterthought.

I would say don't stress about running out of charge (as long as you don't leave it for 6 months without a charge, which if you're using to top up before rides, you won't). It does 4 tyres from flat. If you use inner tubes you'd probably be well out of tubes and emergency patches by this point. If you run tubeless, you're probably not reinflating from flat. I've started carrying a tiny USB C to USB C cable in my saddlebag, with which I can use the reverse charge from my phone to top the pump up, my Garmin, lights, even my Di2 using a tiny little adaptor you can get from AliExpress (in emergencies - I don't make a habit of it...). And all of this is a massive upgrade from the Co2 cartridges many of us took out for years before.

BTW with regards to the suggestion to using the car sized pump, I've got one of those too, and it does work, but I found the cut off was nowhere near as precise at normal road bike pressures. Generally I'd end up with tyres 5 psi higher than I wanted. Could be just my particular 'car pump' but the Cyclami one gets it spot on every time.

Ive used it a few times and it recharges in minutes and I've been happy with it. My only quandary I maybe I should have got the Pro version with a gauge.

Looks good. £87 so getting on for 4 times the cost of Cyclami. Then again I haven't received it yet(due today) so it might be utter crap 😂.
Looking at the Cycplus, the Cyclami must have been modelled/copied from it as it looks identical with exact same case and accessories etc. Whether it'll be as good of course is yet to be determined.
I'll update as and when.

On a side note I fixed my old track pump so I'm covered anyway.

Are you sure they'll do it? Car tyres are large volume low pressure, bikes are low volume high pressure.

Most I have seen have a dial that goes up to bike pressures so I presume they are OK

takes one of each apart and they are not identical internally; A2 pro max on page 1 and Cyclami A3 on page 2 - this coment is made on the Cyclami
I think this is a very solid and comparable construction to the reference, with 8% more battery capacity costing only about half.
