Incidentally, that was no Wimpy in the picture and judging by those shadows.....

I can't remember where I was when Elvis the Pelvis died. Nor where I was when Lennon died or Kennedy or Churchill (no, not the big dog).
In fact I can't remember where I was yesterday afternoon.

I know where I was when I heard Princess Di had died..... sorry, sent to the moon until Phil croaks it....... I was in the kitchen the morning after listening to the radio and thinking it was some sort of slightly tasteless joke.

Unfortunately I was right in a sense, seeing as she had one of the most tasteless deaths and funerals possible....

Elvis meant nothing to me when he died - he was just a fat middle-aged weirdo in a daft jump suit. But since then I've actually listened to the music and some of it is really, really good. So shame on me!

Some of his stuff, especialy 1969 - 1971 is fantastic.

The film thats the was it is / was is very good.

Elvis version of Bridge over toubled water is better then S&G, even paul simon said pretty much that.

Pretty much the same here, I was just reminded of it the other day because it was 35 years since he croaked.

A Wimpy (Wellington) only had two. In the picture it looks like a Superfortress or similar.

I'd say it was real, but, look at the shadows!!

The Shadows are up there aswell? Good backing group for Elvis I suppose.

I spent that weekend driving a minibus to Scotland and back from Leicester, for some climbing friends. It had no tape deck, only a radio, so I spent the entire 48 hrs seemingly listening to an endless loop of Candle in the Wind... :banghead:

I was living in Munich at the time, and I still got fed up with hearing about it. I can't imagine how bad it must have been listening to UK radio for 48 hours.

My condolencies, it must have been truly horrific!

It was grim, it has to be said, and there was absolutely no escape..... although ear plugs did come in handy!
