Endorphins-how far before your “feel good” kicks in?

Sometimes if I start and head downhill at speed, it happens straight away. Normally, the lasting buzz is after the first big hill (or hilly section) for me.

Occasionally it'll be right at the end of a ride but those are normally rides where the decision at a crossroads is always to head up. The downhill after one of those is a massive payoff.

Depends, I recently did a cycling weekend on the New Forest, and I have to admit the feel good feeling did not kick in until the second day. The first day was torture, but that could have been because I got wet mid way through the ride.

Club run this morning probably a good hour before my legs heart and lungs are talking to each other in a respectable manner.

Takes about 8 or 10 miles before i get into my rhythm a d start getting the feel good factor.

I know if I cant ride for a few days it has a very negative effect on my feeling of well being.

3-4 miles to get going and at about 16-18 miles I get a real 'I can ride anything' buzz when everything suddenly feels effortless. This lasts maybe 10-15 miles and then I revert to just feeling ok.

I rode on friday and on Saturday and didn't really enjoy either, the weather wasn't great and I just seemed to have no energy

Then I went out last night in truly horrible conditions, it was pitch black and really gusty. I almost wimped out but once I got going, there that feel good feeling was. I've no explanation for it
