I listened to the last half hour on Radio 5. One of the commentators was losing it - not in a bad way. He just couldn't work out what was happening.
The team and manager were gracious in defeat and never mentioned that. I watched the game in the pub next to a morose bad-loser kiwi who kept going on about the bug. England were just superb and flustered the All Blacks.

The fact is they underestimated England.
This^^

Youngs definitely had Smith rattled, and his decision making was pretty poor. The biggest factor was the sheer ferocity of the pack. Wood is world class, no doubt about it whatsoever: fast out of the line and smashing some pretty big hitters along the way, backed up by Cole who was, again, magnificent. He may lose the occasional scrum, but he steals ball like a Seven. The whole pack rucked like monsters. In fact, they rucked like All Blacks, which meant the Kiwis had to commit players to the breakdown.

We finally saw how the English centres can interact as well, with fewer handling errors. Some pretty sweet interaction between Tuilagi and Barritt. If Ashton could time his running onto the ball better we could have had at least one try more. That first one he fumbled he would actually have died in that corner... there were three Kiwis between him and the line. I think he knocked on to save his life!!

You could just enjoy it for what it was in the meantime.
I rarely enjoy an English victory!

But seriously what it did show was that England have a lot of power in the team (still a lack of guile) and when it gets rolling, especially at home with the crowd behind them, they can be a very difficult team to handle.

The clip of the English supporters' singing drowning out the All Blacks' Haka was impressive but disrespectful.
Why should the Haka be respected?

It's been elevated in recent years to some sort of quasi religious thing that everybody must be silent during. What nonsense.

I agree. The haka is, among other things, an explicit declaration of respect for the opposition; it deserves reciprocity. It's like booing as the opposition lines up for a kick - the kind of thing only a cad or a Frenchman would do.

If you want to know the correct way to show respect for the Haka, ask Richard Cockerill and Norm Hewitt

Watched the game as that's the done thing, what I noticed the next day was my sons rugby tend to imitate the tactics ,some good ie they picked out jackles ,and executed some top jackles and not so good a lot of kicking,
Nice to see mike brown playing a full game again, his father lives two houses down from me,and played youth level at the same club as my lad,so always creates more excitement when you have a personal connection
