Getting old but not past it

I am losing the will to ride because of this 40 to 50 mph wind we get every day. I only had one ride this month! Could someone turn the wind machine off please? And to cap it all, 25 miles away from me, they started to have snow yesterday. This is promising to be a hard winter. I think I will hibernate and wake up in the spring. Good night all.

It's getting me down more this year too for some reason. I've almost decided to hang the bikes up and just concentrate on walking over the winter.

Not been a good month at all. High winds and constant heavy rain here. Now the cold has arrived, but at least it's dry and only light winds. Snow I can handle; if it's heavy enough it means no work and no cycling, but it's still better than all that b'stard RAIN! :cursing:

Edit.. Actually, with the exception of September and October, it's been a bloody awful YEAR for weather. Stormy January and February, spring was damp, then the long awaited summer just never happened. Throughout the year the common theme has been the constant wind. I just hope this isn't the shape of things to come!
It's already cost me £120 for a roof repair this month .

Must admit not been doing as much this autumn , mileage right down this year compared to last by about 2000 miles . Hoping to break 5000 miles by Christmas. Just not busting a gut this time of year.

I thought this year had been OK so far. It stayed warm until last weekend and didn't get too hot in summer. So there's wind. There's always wind here between fens and coast. What you lose in one direction you usually gain in the other. I am glad of a very stable bike in these conditions, though!

I've been driving to work this week. On my rural commute there's little to temper the blast and finding want to end up faceplanting or under the wheels of an Audi, so discretion is the better part of valour.

I like the crisp and cold for cycling, so hopefully the wind will abate soon.

I had a decent ride planned for tomorrow. Iv been too busy with work recently to get out much. But it's going to be -1 in the morning. My cross bike is out of action and don't think I will risk it on my road bike.going to get some spiked tyres I won't let winter defeat me this year!
