Makes a change from BMWs and Audis.

poppycock!!!

It's not the car type but the owners and they way they perceive the roads.

some don't care where they park
others use them as playgrounds
others still that think it's a racing track
and some that abide by all rules and park legally
The article I linked to earlier suggests that there is a link to car type.
I'd say it was more due to the type of person who chooses a particular brand of car though.

Some drivers with trailers on are even worse i had a gentleman for lack of a better name pull across in front of me (just last week) with a trailer on his car i was going quite fast down a hill in the wet i still dont know how i avoided the trailer, another time i had a driver overtake me and pull in the trailer just missed me.

All sorts of drivers driving all sorts of cars but all human and to a cyclist just one mistake or lack of care can be fun to say the least.

Well safe cycling and a happy new year to everyone.

I was once going down the motorway at a rock steady 70. An Audi came last me like I was stood still, really hoofing it. Unremarkable, you might think, except this one was towing an empty car trailer. Because of the speed the trailer was airborne like a drogue parachute, touching the ground every few hundred yards before bobbing back into the air again.

Does this work for makes of bike as well. If you have a Trek, you can jump lights or if you have a Koga, you can ride on footpaths. Or dont cyclists do that type of thing^_^

I have found general common courtesy is on a downward slide on the road, people are in far to much of a rush and don't care, I tend to leave early to miss the worst traffic, but I rack up some semi decent mileage and see some messed up things.

Worst offences are people not slowing/stopping at roundabouts and the amount of times I have been forced to stop on a roundabout as someone hasn't yielded when it's my right of way is becoming a joke.

One back road near me I avoid in the morning as the boy racer who uses the road when I leave has decided driving in the middle of the road is acceptable behaviour.

If I can convert my current temp contract at work to a perm job I will consider asking to be allowed to work from home, I hate driving these days the stress and the idiots who over populate our roads are beyond a joke.

I see all types of motorists every day, and yes, I see a pronounced tendency in the owners of Teutonic marques (Volkswagen excepted) to consider street signs as more a suggestion rather than a rule. Must be a recent thing, I used to drive an Audi Fox, and was too worried for it to drive in such a way.
There is evidence that suggests drivers of certain cars, and those cars about which assumptions are being made in this thread, are more prone to certain types of negative vehicle use.

Like in Terminator 3 when TX programs the cars, they start driving faster.

But my take on the fastest driven cars is usually a small Vauxhall with a fart-o-pipe of an exhaust. And the slowest drivers are those of small far-eastern eco cars.
