Our office was hot and sweaty the other day so looked forward to my ride home, had bib shorts on and because I was hot I dispensed with my underpants for the ride home, my wife came in whilst I was getting changed on getting home and accused me of being some kind of deviant !

Just wondering what is typical , I figured it was ok as I wasnt getting off and anyway, so what it has an integral nappy anyway, I was hot, they were going in the wash.

So, pants or not beneath the Lycra ?

Or am I just kinky

Yes, padded cycling shorts are designed to be worn with no underwear.

However, I just don't like the feel of going commando in cycling shorts, dunno why but I just never have done. I wear boxer shorts underneath and have no problems with chafing or sweatiness.

I think you must be kinky wanting to wear anything else under the lycra... do you enjoy the chafing?:biggrin:

Glad about that, my wife made me feel a bit pervy going commando but now the Cyclechat collective has spoken, it is officially expected to not wear pants underneath Lycra.

Wasnt uncomfortable, going without does tend to make you feel like you are walking round starkers though.

Although I agree in principle with what was said above, I tend to find I like to wear something under my lycra shorts. Somehow otherwise I feel too underdressed. Although vpl is, of course, a real no-no, somehow it's better than having just a thin bit of lycra between you and the world.

Being a girl, and on a recumbent, I don't suffer from chafe.

some guys just dont look good in lycra. For me personaly, i dont mind seeing slim fit guys cycling in lycra, but when your stuck behind an elephant in lycra with sides splitting, flesh hanging out, or trying to escape, as he huffs and puffs on his mountain bike, it does make one feel quesy
