I picked this up this evening. I know very little about it, so needs a bit of research. Any pearls of knowledge from you lot would be most welcome.
It was described as Ernie Clements Falcon, but there’s no reference to falcon anywhere on the bike.
Date is 1982 according to brakes, and frame number on B.B. is M2L59394.

The sticker on the frame would suggest it was supplied by Halifax Cycle World of Sowerby Bridge.

You're misreading the traders decal. It's Cycle World, Halifax & Sowerby Bridge, not Halifax Cycle World, Sowerby Bridge.

Same company, two shops, one in each.

Spencer Peacock, from Manchester way, bought Cyril Sands two shops(1970) and another, Bert Roots Cycles(1986) in Halifax. Operating Cyril Sands in opposition to Bert Roots Cycles at first.

Two locations in Halifax itself:
Upper Crown Street, Cyril Sands. Now a private hire/takeaway
Bull Close Lane, opposite Ferguson Street junction. Last in use as a takeaway/restaurant.

Sowerby Bridge shop closed around six years ago.

Ceased trading in 1986, under the names Cycle World, Bert Roots Cycles & Cyril Sands(whose Halifax shop lay empty and untouched until the late 90's).

There's a family link with Chevin Cycles in Otley.

I would suspect so. Falcon was purchased by Elswick Hopper in 1978 so any connection with Falcon had long since ceased. Ernie already owned the Coventry Eagle name and I think he may have used that on some bikes.
I did read of someone writing to Edward, Ernie’s Son, with details of his Clements who then gave him date of manufacture and other info.
Some low end components there, the stem changers and suicide levers seem strange. nice bike though and very tidy.
Is it a six speed?
