Clearly I’m mainly excited for the women’s races…U23 today and elites tomorrow!! I’m hoping Demi doesn’t fight for it tomorrow and we get a different euro champion!

Just noticing that the u23 women rode four laps of the circuit with the nasty climb for a race of 88km, while the women elite will ride a point to point section and 2 laps for a race of 130km. The u23 men will ride a shorter opening section and then 3 laps for a race of 141km.

Make it make sense....Please?

I mean - this is the climb - it's the only real obstacle in the entire race - loop or opening - and it's brutal. But those frail little u23 girls* who can't manage the distance the elite women will ride get 40km of rolling stuff chopped off and an extra two times up this legbreaking bastard.

* the u23 women are neither frail nor girls, this was obviously ironic. Some of them are quite little though - it's cycling, there are lots of small people in the sport
