Although computer analysis of footage from the 1966 world cup shows it wasn't a valid goal and England didn't really win!

Wwhhoooaaa! I was asking about the song, which I haven't heard (not heard any of them in fact.) Eurovision is a non-political event.
I know, the song really WAS that bad!

Nah, I'm kidding... I never heard it either; Point of principle and all that my good chap!

I remember that one. Dross, but undeniably catchy dross.

Exactly. That you remember a song from nearly 30 years ago over the the one from this year says it all.

Although if you haven't actually heard it I guess the point is moot.

The Dana Indigestion one was all over the wireless and as those were the days before Planet Rock I was inevitably exposed to it many times.

Fast forward to 2025 and I have no tv licence so haven't seen any of the contest programmes on telly, and Planet Rock goes on from the moment I arise and typically only goes off when it's time for beddy byes.

So as catchy as Damage Internally was I can't genuinely draw a comparison myself.

It wasn't terrible, but I didn't think it was particularly special either. Tempo wise it's a fast 6/8 , sort of Vienesse Waltz style until the bridge which is in 4 for some reason. The title was "New Day will Rise". She performed dressed as a crow as far as I could see, whilst singing in a large chandelier.

Norton introduced her as having a massive voice or some such but it didn't come across on the TV at all.

At best it was "nice". You'd listen to it, but it didn't scream "massive hit".
