Nope. Probably have to call and check.

I know a guy at work has taken print outs from random websites not listed and Evans have matched those deals so you might be lucky. Shy bairns get nowt etc.

My son and I went in to Evans to buy pedals for the bike I was giving him a month or so ago. They were very reluctant to price match with Wiggle, a company that is on their list, due to the price difference meaning them discounting by over 60%.

The staff member on the till had to call out the manager to authorise it, which he grudgingly did.

[off-topic]He wanted out on the bike that day (you know youngsters and excitement lol) and there's no way I could persuade him to try my clipless pedals. He went half way and got Shimano M424. Wiggle can go swivel at the moment as I've had no Haribo in my last two orders!![/off-topic]

As suggested further up OP is best to call ahead and check or just turn up and wing it, but be prepared to walk away and shop online if the answer isn't what you want.

Ah, typed too slow! I guess that it will come down to the shop and staff, as seems to be the case so often with larger chains.

I suppose I should add the caveat that the Evans in Gateshead have had a fair amount of business via C2W (and subsequent purchases) from my colleagues so they could be more flexible than other stores.

The website does say they may match other local specialist retailers in store, so if Wheelies have bricks and mortar and are local to the store who knows. Online, probably not a cat's chance

The Evans in Sheffield is pretty good for price matching. I asked them if they matched Planet X which they didn't, but the guy googled the cheapest price for me there and then and I got it for the same price as PX anyway. Just be polite and ask, they can only say no and lose a sale.

Supposedly they only price match with UK based companies. Where the company pays the same tax and overhead rates. I once tried to price match with something from Amazon and if i remember correctly, that is the answer that they gave me.

We only match specialist competitors that have a reasonable commitment to stock, are authorised retailers of the brands they sell, sell genuine products, sell direct (not via marketplaces or auction sites) and most importantly offer a comparable level of service and after sales backup to ourselves.

I found Evans also add postage costs when they price match. I had them price match 2 pairs of Ortlieb panniers and they also added the cost of postage which I thought was a bit sneak.
