Following on from this incident the quartermaster at my LBS has drawn up a list of replacement bikes from the range he's bringing in in February from Dawes. I'm looking at the following bikes:


Discovery XO2
Discovery 301
Discovery 401

as replacements. Not knowing much about the brand I wonder if these bikes are comparable (or better... or worse!) to the Orbea Hybrid Sportif I had. Does anyone have any opinions on Dawes?

What I'd do is check the component list against your current bike and the proposed new one - if not sure the LBS will advise.

How's the shoulder?

Sore as hell, but otherwise surviving.

The XO2 looks comparable in components, but i'm not familiar with the Dawes brand.
