He does seem to be a very content chap, amazingly so as in the last 10 weeks he's had an ear removed, five teeth removed, and travelled 200 miles from a rescue centre to our house

More cat show answers please.

I know how dogs are shown - seen Crufts in passing and enjoyed Best in Show - but how is a cat "shown"?

Is it just a case of them being on a wee pedestal type thingy and the judge just has a look and feels them up there and then? Presumably they can't been seen moving, trotting or cantering can they?

IMO cat judging is a bit more impartial - dog shows can be a bit more about the wrong end of the lead Although the same can be said about cat shows as cats can become 'known'.

Here is the process: (I am very new to this so it is basic)

Vetting In: All cats are checked by a vet for any signs of 'obvious' illness.
Preparing: Owners do a final 'clean' - usually eyes, and bum. And a groom with Chamois.
Judging: Owners bugger off.
Open to Public: The main "open" classes have been judged, but 'side classes' are still to be judged. Public and owners are allowed into the hall.

I saw both cats being judged for the first time today: no moving, but very 'hands on'....and I was very pleased to see some 'cuddling'. And a kiss for my wee Angus

Well, looks like more tiny feet will be pattering in the Noodley household.

Just agreed to get another kitten from the same home as wee Angus, but a different litter. He has a wee kink in his tail which means he cannot be shown, but we saw him again on Saturday and he was lovely. And tonight we agreed to give him a home...

...oh well, more fun!
