We're getting a standard Berlingo, then getting a simple removable unit like an amdro boot jump. We already sleep in our CRV on a platform we insert into the back, but there's not enough room to sit up. We decided we'd be comfier in the Berlingo.
We've had a couple of stunning trips sleeping in the wilds of Scotland in the CRV, can't wait to do more in the new car!

Brake horsepower (BHP) is the amount of power generated by a motor without taking into consideration any of the various auxiliary components that may slow down the actual speed of the motor.
Not quite. It can be measured at the flywheel, or at the road wheels. The 'brake' refers to the device which gives the resistant force. Originally it was a water brake, these days it's a more elegant Dyno roller set up.

I was trying to keep things simple.
 
BHP is how fast you can cycle.
Torque is how hard you push the pedals

Maximum bhp happens at high rpm. Which probably means most of us don't use maximum that much, 'cos you look like a knob revving the arse off your car at the traffic lights and its not very economical. Hill starts is somewhere you need torque and why giving it a few rpm helps.
The newest high performance cars are going for a hybrid system now as electric motors give maximum torque at zero rpm. Its also quite fun in the Renault Zoe.

'Cos electric cars have 100 percent of the torque available from the off, there's no curve. Without clever bits of engineering to manage the output, they wouldn't last long before exploding in a shower of springs and cogs.

The middle aged woman in what looks like a small engined new shape Clio (but not quite) has been known to surprise people. Think its also down to it doing it in complete silence, no launch control revving first.

The new 'The Grand Tour' did a drag test with an electric car and some really fast cars - it was fastest upto about 30 by a mile.... can't remember which.
