Y can act as either a vowel or consonant.

I will never forget, shortly after we moved to Pontypridd, in 1982, my mother was coming to visit, and phoned to ask for directions (no satnavs in those days).

So I say to her, up the A470, take the Pontypridd turn, then follow the signs towards Ynysybwl. "Can you spell that?" So I did, and her reaction was "but it's got no vowels!"

On keyboard, do Ctrl Shift 6, release then the letter you want.

Sorry for delay, not been in the pc all week. That indeed works brilliantly for aeiou, doesn't recognise y & w though. A great help though, cheers
