Facebook - why do people swear so much on it?

I need to swap my intensifiers for something more paleatable - frustration brings out the farks and daffodils, and I'm frustrated all the time.

I find it tends to be when a friends likes something that contains the words, unfortunately it pops up on my screen I will block as much as possible. Some young people have a very poor grasp of language so swear to cover up their ignorance by pretending that swearing is a way to project their passion for something. Perhaps if they had spent more time ar school..

My very sweet niece married a football type (he supports Hibs) whose facebook posts are littered with bad language. I've blocked him so I mostly don't get to see his posts anymore.

It's funny... on my FB feed, I get great music, interesting and challenging points of view on current issues, notifications of events I want to go to, updates from friends and family who are a long way away. It's all a matter of filtering what (and who) you want and don't want. Same with Twitter.

Yep, that;s pretty much my experience of it too. I use it a lot, and find it interesting/useful etc

NB: I'll admit to swearing in real life but it is pretty mild and rare.

I haven't noticed people swearing much on Facebook. I think it might be your 'friends'...

I completely agree, I went onto FB to check the last 2 weeks of posts from people - not a single swear word.

How do you know if you never use them?

I know people who do
I read the papers,as per bullying and suicides.
My mum had to come off it,as she could not believe what she was seeing.

This is a cycling forum,or at least that's my understanding.
