Bollocks. Stephen Fry is one of the most potty-mouthed daffodils alive, and he's been thrown out of several of the best schools in the country. As a general rule the number of expletives used per statement is inversely proportional to the author's academic achievement.

As if I'd befriend that foulmouthed daffodil...As a general rule.
Unlike you, I'm not Facebook friends with Stephen Fry.![]()
Yep, that;s pretty much my experience of it too. I use it a lot, and find it interesting/useful etcIt's funny... on my FB feed, I get great music, interesting and challenging points of view on current issues, notifications of events I want to go to, updates from friends and family who are a long way away. It's all a matter of filtering what (and who) you want and don't want. Same with Twitter.
Is it me or am I just an old fashioned fuddy-duddy by not really liking this sort of thing?
NB: I'll admit to swearing in real life but it is pretty mild and rare.
I completely agree, I went onto FB to check the last 2 weeks of posts from people - not a single swear word.I haven't noticed people swearing much on Facebook. I think it might be your 'friends'...
I would never use these social networking sites.
Or Social Poison as I like to call it.
Swearing, bullying and pointless chat seem to be the norm on them.
Irony alert.I must be an ancient fuddy duddy then.
