He had covered his ar5e by making a ridiculously low donation to the charity he was purporting to represent. Case dismissed and carry on with your good work, sir.....
This was large scale stuff, BTW, hitting towns in teams transported in vans.

There's quite a lot of that goes on in the clothing / textile recycling line, I must get 3 collection bags through the door per week. They're all heavily implying that it's for Cancer Research or similar (sometimes even using the official logo), but when you look up the "charity" in detail using the fine print, you find it's a clothing reseller / textile recycling business that gives something like 1% (sometimes less) of all profit raised to Cancer Research. In my book they're no better than the 100% fake collectors on the street that the OP mentions.

Probably about one every two weeks here, and always supposedly for British Heart Foundation. The bag goes straight into the bin; and if I want to make a donation in the form of either cash or clothing to BHF then I will do it at their shop - 5 minutes walk away.

At times pushy, and verbal, if you say no and your way ahead is blocked slowing you down.

Legally, I believe that's obstruction. I'd report them to the plod.

Not a fake but I did report one to the organistion they were working for. It was a local organisation about which I happened to know rather a lot. The chugger in question did not and made up a complete load of rubbish about what the organisation was doing in an effort to get me to sign up. I walked home and rang them. I may well have ruined the chugger's day.

Been in touch with one that does exist, his latest doesn't.

Not "chugger", as he was actually putting the money into a bag being carried.

I'd go to A&E and get it seen to
Sort of response expected from you. I've more respect for those who work in A&E's, and if I'm in the town centre, it tends to involve ambulance being called by someone else.

I tell them I'm a gaye donor.

There's a moment's confusion for them before I explain it.
