Yeah, true. I've been to my local currys a few times over the last few years and there are hardly any staff to take your money at the till, let alone query something.
Witnessed this the other week the till staff wandered off. whilst we were in a queue.... the manager came over said in a jokey manner "wheres my till operatives" put a tannoy call out for them then wandered off so we put our self selected item on the counter and walked out. there must have been 6 or 7 people in the queue

As a retail manager myself I thought it was appalling service by both the till staff and the manager, I would of signed on a till tried to serve the queue whilst waiting for the staff to come back

Currys is particularly bad. My local one is a huge superstore and there is honestly only about 6 staff for the whole store.

Try buying heavily discounted Apple goods......

That's more about controlling supply though. It's been argued a few times on here that certain bike manufacturers stop bike shops from discounting their bikes by threatening to stop supplying the shops if they do, which may well be illegal. I'd expect Apple are pretty similar.

Apple are one of the few who don't even have to try. Just look at the queues the week before launch day on any of their products.
I have an iphone and an iPad, and have had for a while. I like them both, but I'm not particularly impressed with being tied to Apple. So next time....

Does anyone remember the now defunct clothing shop Eisenegger?
They had a closing down sale with 70% off everything, that lasted for about 5 years.
I bought one of their jackets once for £30 reduced from £100. I have no doubt that it was never sold for £100, but it was a good jacket for £30.
I bought one of their jackets. Machine washable it was. The machine washed it clean ok but one of the sleeves came off!

...you'll buy another Apple like everyone else does?
