When you are a young man in Spain, don't get pissed in a barcelona bar, and try to grab the superb flamenco guitarist's guitar so that you might try to give a drunken rendition of "dirty old town". You will get thrown out, and threatened....:wacko:

On meeting someone from North America, ask them if they are Canadian; if they are they will be impressed and delighted that you didn't mistake them for being American. If they are American they will be delighted that you thought they were Canadian.

Always tell each Welshman you meet every sheep joke you know, they would be offended if you didn't.

When in rural France express your admiration for all things Parisian.

Kebabs are actually Turkish.... or Greek, I can never remember.

But whichever they are, don't ask for one in the other place.

Not a lot of help am I. Um, don't get your willy out in a kebab shop, that chilly sauce smarts.

if caught being drunk on the streets of beijing at 2 in the morning, be sure to quote random monty python soundbites (having established that their english is on a par with your mandarin) and flash your hotel keyring - for some reason this elicits laughter.

In some countrys it is unconscionable not to belch after a meal, whereas in most other countrys it is merely rude to do so, so you're best off belching after ever meal, wherever you are, just to be on the safe side.
