Chinese = hit & miss - there's some good sauces and meat, and some that turn to gelatinous gloop.

I left chinese out because your right! which dishes are good and which dishes are bad needs its own thread...

In Short...

All Chow Meins = Yes
Sweet and sour sauce & balls = No
Spring rolls = no
Rice = yes

I agree with that - sweet & sour turns bad within hours.

Maybe prawn toast could be the issue of contention. I vote yes

Not if you've got some chilli dipping sauce left it isn't - the breakfast of champions, that is.

Chilli Dipping sauce is like the Holy Grail of condements! it will rescue most things & give them eternal life!

While on the subject of chilli dipping sauce.... cant believe I forgot cold BBQ left overs... roll on summer!

So is this thread about food that is better cold the next day or food that is better re-heated next day? Or about food that will kill you if you don't eat it all when first hot?

Yes.

I like chinese food cold for breakfast (I always have fried rice, and chicken with cashew nuts). And cold pizza. Curry, I'd save for dinner and reheat.

Last week, while sorting the contents of recycling bags picked up that morning, we found a pizza box with almost an entire cheesy garlic bread in it. It had been tied up inside a bag and looked quite clean and only from the day before.

We reckoned the microwave would kill any bugs. And we all survived. But we nornally restrict ourselves to eating the contents of out of date tins and stuff.

Shepherds Pie...most definately, reheated or cold (there's not many foods i like to eat cold)
Pizza..used to, but had a stomach upset last time i had one (just co-incidence), now i just dont fancy pizza the first time round, let alone reheated)
Roast potatoes...cold. yum yum
Home made rice pudding...cold the second time round.

My Mrs always says reheating rice is a big no no. What's other people's view?
Yes, I have a nasty experience on that front too. At my sister's wedding reception, way back in the 1970s, there was a cold rice salad served, which had not been properly stored, so it was assumed. A good half of the guests (including me; also my B-i-L) went down with the bug. Not nice! Especially for those who'd hired a coach to take them back home after the reception. And not nice for the coach driver either!

But at least everyone recovered.
