I read that there has been a rise in popularity for foods and snacks of childhood, such as jelly, trifle, custard, soft boiled eggs with buttered soldiers, fish fingers etc.
Anybody on here hankering for them or have they never left your table?

Mrs V and I recently revived our love of Artic Roll. Although we've found that Iceland's own make was much nicer, but sadly discontinued

Jelly, trifle, custard are all things we still eat reasonably regularly.

And my wife regularly has fish fingers (I sometimes do, but less often).

I can't think of much food from my childhood that we don't have now but I would like to.

When I was a teenager I loved Fish Fingers on toast.

My Dad bought Liquorice sticks and we all chewed on them as kids watching 1970's TV.

A Dutch friend in my last job brought some of those back for me when he returned from a trip to the Netherlands, where they are still available.

I finished the last one a couple of weeks ago. I'd forgotten those

Still eat a lot of boiled eggs and soldiers ( at least twice a week) followed with jelly and trifles.
Buttered Weetabix is one I won return to as I find them too sweet now. If I got home from school hungry my mam would give me buttered weetabix and jam to keep me going til tea time ^_^

Frozen solid, orange ice, Jubbly, on a hot summer afternoon in the early 1970's.

A pyramid shaped frozen orange marvel.

The slow devouring pleasure was ecstatic, I can still feel the sensations now, just thinking about it.:hyper:

Edit: I hope you wasn't tempted to squeeze the tetrapack, the ice Jubbly would popout and escape down the road.
