My dog (she's a 12 year old lady now) had an operation yesterday and is now up and about and wanting food again - that's pretty bloody good news!

My 6 year old daughter won 3 firsts, 2 seconds and a forth at the school sports day on Wednesday.

If it's any consolation Punky, the post holiday re-adjusting to England' blues have hit me today. I went shopping for some essentials, and it was all wrong - there were none of the right fruit purree pots, and no Coulommier cheese, and the bread is all the wrong shape.

And I couldn't find a single donkey sausage.

I bought some Brie and tomatoes to try and rekindle a hint of the last fortnight's picnic lunches. I may even eat them off my plastic plate.

Anyway, cheer up. You have a puppy! What could be better then that?
