ah well, it's nice for once to be the one that walks away leaving someone else to lie in the road
sadly no cam footage
I have now read this thread twice with a growing sense of astonishment. Are the people who share my interest in cycling so completely detached from reality. I can only imagine that the above comment was made as a result of a mental aberration caused through shock.
A woman has been knocked down in a road traffic accident and the principal area of discussion is where does the fault lie.
Has anyone thought about how angry we cyclists would be if one of our number had been an accident victim in a collision with a car and a similar internet conversation were going on between the driver and a bunch of other motorists.
It matters little how this woman contributed to her injury, the point is she is hurt - quite badly by the sound of it - and the thrust of this post is 'not my fault guv'.
I think it is an absolute disgrace and we should hang our heads in shame.
Has anyone contacted the hospital to ask how she is? Perhaps contacted her family? Has she got a husband? Children even? Perhaps a visit to the hospital with a box of choccies is in order.
And talking of children what if the victim of this collision had been a child? Would you be so smug then? I think not.
A serious evaluation of our responsibilities as road users is order here!!
