Ffordd Pen Llech and Twtil, Harlech

At 1 in 2.5 (40%) it's the steepest tarmacked road in the UK, I believe, plus the grind back up Twtil to Harlech Castle.

The damp road plus added leaf mulch was 'fun' on the way down, and please forgive my lack of stamina on the way up!

Thanks for posting. Harlech is my favourite place. When I die I want my ashes scattered from the castle walls. I try and go once a year and never tire of the place.

I wish we'd have had longer there. I'm planning to get back to explore further around the area. Riding along the beach at low tide was fun!!

a section a939 cockbridge to tomintoul.in the cairngorms..i would say would be steepest tarmac road in britain,the only road in britain i haven't been able to conquer in my motorhome..a combination of a wet road and front wheel drive contributed...the hill has to seen to be believed,it's incredible

According to ~wikipedia~, Ffordd Penn Llech is the steepest. I remember driving the Cockbridge to Tomintoul rad in a 7.5 ton truck many moons ago. Love that bridge!!
