Looks similar to a WWI French 75. The bottom assembly houses the recoil mechanism. Prior to these types of gun, artillery bounced back with each shot meaning they had to be repositioned before firing again. This type could be fired repeatedly without having to do that,

Now i like that beigy colour,compared to that horrible grey or dull green they seem to come in. I bet one in Bianchi celeste would look nice!

Get some tailor's dummies and recreate the whole thing.

Damn fine idea there Tim! Maybe put a few pineapples and coconuts on top of the 25 pounder for that 8th Army look. After all,pineapples and coconuts grow in the desert,don't they?
