Friend of mine claimed for pot hole damage when he lost it going down a steepish hill and tried to bunny hop a 38kg electric bike up a high kerb, wrecked back wheel, cassette and tyre.
Found a pothole nearby, took a picture of it and rang the council-they paid out for the repairs:ohmy:
The cheeky get even put me down as a witness, some people are born scallies:smile:

I think its a bit rough on the authorities to compare them at the moment.

Somerset are well down the table but they're working hard at doing repairs. trouble is there are more appearing all the time with continuing sub-zero temperatures.

They repaired one I reported within a week - maybe coincidence but it had only appeared during the previous week! Paint keeps appearing round the new ones, and they get done soon afterwards.

It'll be more revealing to look at the situation 3 or 4 weeks after the end of the bad frosts and snow.

Drove along one of my favourite moorland bike routes at the weekend, and at present it would be almost unrideable, so will look at how that progresses with interest.

Northamptonshire at 120th 30% - actually in my mind a lot better than that - potholes after recent snap have been filled in quite quickly and with right materials -where appropriate - seem to be better than the last incumbents of the Highways Services Partnership

Would be interested in how the figures are arrived at, if they rely on the LA telling them when the pot hole is sorted, then the numbers probably aren't accurate... I've recently reported pot holes direct to the Council and they've been filled very quickly- but I never had any mail after the initial automatic acknowledgement.

Here for rides.
I'm a zealot for reporting them. Less good at reporting them fixed. It seems I am doing West Sussex a disservice as a result and if it is going to be all competitive like with league tables and everything I shall pull my finger out and ensure I report 'em fixed in future.

Kirklees seems to be doing reeasonably well.....

Which just goes to show there are lies, damned lies and statistics.

We don't have any roads in Kirklees, just a collection of loosely amalgamated craters

Interesting to see Coventry at 190th - they have some of the worst roads in the country for potholes and have yet to fill any of the ones I've reported

I think that is the big flaw in this table.

I'm sure a lot of the holes would have been filled in but no-one has updated the status.

I looked at a few marked near where I live and know for a fact that they were repaired a long time ago.

Just like reviews on-line, it's always easier to complain about something.

coventry is a bit naff,

they made a big song and dance about having filled a thousand pot holes a week or two back.

they've filled them as effectively as a cow that craps tarmac! I considered putting two wheels on the pavement the other day so as to not damage my car! (i didn't)

I've asked the question, and Anthony has provided the answer - the hole is marked as filled if either the person reporting the hole, or the local authority tells fillthathole.org that the hole is filled.

Of course, if the filling comes out, then it can be reported again...

Last time I checked the hole I reported was still down as having not been filled, I think this fair dos for taking 3 months and they should know whether they have filled it or not. On the other hand one of the reasons I reported it was that it didn't get so bad - predictably it needs refilling again now, so I don't know what I'd classify it as. Points for trying?

At 48th, Telford & Wrekin don't have a lot to shout about but the sight of a 'pothole-buster' van outside my house the day after I reported the hole was gratifying. They haven't filled it in though - but they know about it....................!!!

Test Valley Council :- reported that the whole road (150 yard) was like a patch work quilt
One year later still the same
Reported it again left phone number and e address
4 weeks later phone call, "can’t repair road we have no money until late August
