I'd been drooling over the thought of a new commuter for some time now, and I'd always had my eyes on

https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/EBPXLONRDA1M/planet-x-london-road-apex-1 but at £800 (££719 just now with discount) I still thought it was a bit steep.

Yesterday I got an email from planetX telling me that they now were doing these.

not as sexy looking and I know the spec is slightly less but what's sexier is the pricetag is £500 for the base model. Sexyness is £300 extra in the wallet

Figured I'd post it up and let anyone else who's been looking get in on the deal, 2 sold in the space of me buying mines, limited stock*

* I am in no way employed by planetx or any affiliation. I just like their bikes  However if they want to sponsor me...:biggrin::biggrin:

Looks good for the money, what's it like for fitting mudguards.

Nice looking bike for the money

I'm still not sure about these 1 × 11 gear set ups.

I'll just need to try it and see when the time comes.

And with the new SL frame too... (even though old and new share the same geometry)

If it's anything like the old frame (which I have) you'll love it

Dave, plenty of space for mudguards or for fatter tyres if you're that way inclined. quite a flexible bike on what you want to do with it.
