On pages that have images or videos firefox has started blocking them , im stumped as it works fine in IE.

Turned that off with no effectI downloaded an 'ad blocker' to do that. For me just clicking on the 'ABP' button at the top right of my screen allows me to bypass it.
Edit: from your screen shot you've got ABP.
