i got abused the other day and maybe i was in the wrong, there was a bad cycle path and i tend to ride the road it is a wide road which has traffic calming 60 limit
1 you've a 100% right to be on the road. You don't have to use cycle paths and at 25mph you're actually well above the speed for which they were designed.
2 Unless its a dual carriageway, 60mph isn't a calmed/limited speed, it's the national speed limit. The only place off a motorway you'd be allowed to do more is a dual carriageway... and then it's only certain classes of vehicle.
I used to think that the Westcountry was a more friendly and (positively) backward place to live, yet Plymouth has become just another city with the majority of people in far too much of a hurry on the roads. I get honked at all the time on my commute, and I am sad to say that I often retaliate with shouts and/or rude gestures. It is a sign of the times.
