Let me be clear on what is happening here. This is a mini-roundabout at a cross-roads where you are turning right. The bus arrives at pretty much the same time as you (if not very slightly earlier) and carries straight on. Have I got it right, or have I missed something obvious?

Is this a joke?

From what I can gather, you're walking in the road (or you've slowed the vid down) and you want to turn right and the bus driver has gone straight on.

I think the driver is entitled to go as he clearly reached the roundabout before you've even got onto it.

I think his point is, the bus driver was on the phone. However, as you can't see that I doubt that the company will do anything about this.

Have to admit that I didn't see anything wrong there, but them I read the blurb on the right of the video. Watched it again but I couldn't make out the phone; hopefully the original will be sharper so that its visible, if that's the main thrust of the complaint you sent in. Otherwise, I doubt there's anything that'll be done.

Same here with the phone. I've no reason to disbelieve you class, but unless the original vid shows something more then you're going to have a tough time convincing anyone at First Bus. It's frustrating I know.

Mistake made in reading the drivers actions. Thought he'd seen me & was slowing because of it. Turned out that he was unlikley to have noticed anything on the road due to the mobile in his left hand.

Hard to see unfortunately.

Just concerntrate on riding your bike quicker and sell your camera on ebay. If that's enough to get you to send in a letter, God help you when you have a real ''incident''

I had a real incident with First. It took them 3 months to actually get back to me about it - I doubt you'll ever hear anything from them about whatever happened in the video.

What would you count as a real incident. Having to take to the pavement in order to avoid a bus coming head on, on the wrong side of the road. That has already happenned.
As has being sideswiped into a stone wall.

As for speeding up you try going uphill faster when there's a vehicle coming downhill at you, that just happens to be going all over the road.

Are you sure you've given us the link to the correct video.

TBH you do seem to be going really slow in the video and I can't see the bus in the video "going all over the road". I'll take you're word for it that he was on phone, but unless you can actually prove this to the bus company, then I don't think you're doing yourself or any other cyclist any favours.

From the video - driving is absolutely fine.

As regards the phone - if there's clear evidence of using a hand held phone it'll get taken very seriously to the point of possible dismissal. First ban staff from using hands free as well. If its not shown on the video then its one person's word against another and in that instance you'd expect the company to defend its driver.

I'd also say that anyone reading a rant about bad driving and then watching that clip to find none is probably going to be inclined to not believe the driver was on the phone.

Checked the origional, phone is visible.
Also the speed seems to be a bit quicker, why I don't know. Actual speed when moving was only 10-12 MPH up a 10 degree incline.
Any suggestions on what may have caused it?

Don't we drive on the left in this country by the way, which side is the bus on at the start of the clip?

You put something on here & you leave yourself open. Fair enough, if I didn't expect it I wouldn't have put it on.

You have an odd way of looking at road safety. Speed up so that you can place yourself in front of a vehicle coming the other way. I suppose its one way of getting cyclists of the road.
