I have just looked at it again. I genuinely cannot see anything wrong in that video. Driver was completely in the correct lane all the way through. He got to the RB first. I cannot see a mobile.

As the footage is inconclusive, I can't see much being done. I guess they would put the complaint on file as it relates to a PSV driver using a mobile, (potentially endangering customers and other road users) but I wouldn't hold my breath.

As for your speed, don't worry...

I think several things are contributing to the negative responses here: one is the speed of the video - seems like some corruption has occured, or compression problem that has resulted in the video playing back slower. Its done that on youtube to one or two of my vids in the past. All I could do was re-upload:wacko:

Secondly the camera is picking up glare off the windsheild of the bus. This is a problem I have contacted several camera manufacturers about and asked them to include a polariser* as standard instead of the simple glass they often use. Its not just commuting videos that are affected by this but also the sports guys who have to deal with reflections off water and so on.

On the roundabout issue I dont think anyone is really arguing there. You treat it like you would if you were turning right off a main road with traffic coming towards you, as it looks like a 4 point one. Unless you;re already on the rab.

*a polarizer/polariser is a filter that is used with video and photo cameras to control reflections. For example if you're taking a photo of a guy with glasses and want to see his eyes, but have a reflection of a building in them, you can place the filter on and adjust it to cancel out the reflection

Thought about using a polarising filter but constant adjustment would have to be made due to the changing angle. They work ok on the SLR, but I'd
say their use may outweigh any gains.

Like I said first one posted on youtube, not the first recording made. As for my speed, I'm not worried. Isn't that one of the benefits of cycling in the first place, travelling at a speed you like, under your own power.

Slightly off topic I know
Piece from camera use after the fact, two days after. A bit of light bruising having been hit sideways on. Leg trapped between car & bike frame.

Don't we drive on the left in this country by the way, which side is the bus on at the start of the clip?

He was going around a parked car that was on the road...

If you would have got to that RAB first and been on it then the bus driver would have to of given way to you. As it was you was ging slow the bus just went and quite right to, after all he's not holding you up at all is he?

As for him being all over the road-not at all. He has three parked cars to overtake on the approach to that RAB hence why he is on the other side of the road.

If you notice as the bus passes the three parked cars, the center line on the road is visible to the right of the bus. Also passed, on the drivers right-hand side, is a junction. Not visible in the piece, a bit like the mobile, but its there. Just above the school.

As for any driver giving right of way at that roundabout. Never had it happen & I don't think it ever will.

;) Well it would be wouldn't it?? In case you don't know classic the width of buses is a lot wider then your average car. That was a perfect overtake by the bus (after all would you want to be really close to parked cars as you overtake them??)

As for your seond paragraph.....I wondered why?;)

Two of the three "parked cars" are actually parked off the road. There's more on that road than can be seen. But as anyone who uses the same stretch of road on a regular basis will testify you learn where these spots are.

As for not expecting right of way to be given, would you turn right in front of a car or even a bus? Or would you?

Where is this post going. Nobody apart from the OPer can see anything wrong with the video.

LOL its gone on long enough, haha!! I gave up after a bit tbh, came back and realised it was still going.

If there was a mobile phone issue fair enough, report him. As for the RAB I didnt really see a problem there, myself.

Anyway... I shall probably click unsubscribe to this soon.
