Hi, I'm new to this forum and looking for some advice. I'm 55 and reasonably fit but certainly no racer. I've cycled for a few years now and am reasonably ok after 50 to 60 miles. I'd like to do my first century ride soon but don't want to over stretch myself with a massively challenging course. Has anyone ridden the Cambridge 100 or know anything about it? Ay help would be greatly appreciated.

Cambridge? As long as they don't sneakily divert you to the Suffolk Alps it'll be a breeze.

@Kennedy

Are you in Cambridge?
If you fancy a little 100 mile ride I'm happy to tag along if you'd like to do one in the near future....
Pace to suit you (unless you average over 20mph, then you can foxtrot!)

More like 13-14mph......based in London at the moment. Maybe meet up closer to the event. Cheers for the offer......distance still worries me a bit.

Don't let it. If you can do 60 without collapsing, slow a little and you'll easily do the 100, especially with the excitement of the day.

Eat and drink properly at the feed stations and you'll be fine.
