Here's how it started life. Under about 6 layers of poorly applied aerosol hid a Steel Raleigh racer.

New parts should be here in the next day or two then it's out for a road test.

Also new handlebars as the ones on in the last pic are quite badly rusted and the chrome ispeeling off. Cut them down to see how they would look.. Quite like the look of them like that.. Not sure wether to cut down the new drops which are on the way :s

Lovely-looking bicycle.

On the bars, I cut them down shortly after going the way of the fixed.

It's fun, but on reflection I think I'd prefer to have the full drops back.

If you already have one set chopped into bullhorns, I'd leave the other set as they are. Decide which you prefer over months instead of minutes.

Been riding it for 2days now.. Covered 8mi/12k. Not sure about the drops I have, ordered narrow ones as it was for mainly city use and liked the sleek look of them but theyre uncomfortable, and haven't really used the drop section. Think bullhorns would suit me better, especially as most of the riding I do is in and around the city. might order some charge bullhorns and see how they go.

Wil post some pics of the finished bike when I get a chance.

Those Charge bullhorns are quite wide compared to chopped
and flipped drops,I use cut down Cinelli criteriums which are nice and stiff
I used some no name cut down drops before which flexed alarmingly when hill climbing
