Good to hear you are still alive. I hope the pain goes quickly! (I got mad headaches with concussion)

Is there CCTV covering the area, or will the cameras be 'pointing in the wrong direction' (as all 3 CCTV cameras were in my town centre)

Sorry to read about this. Hope you recover soon and that they find the driver and put them off the road.

Bad news Joe. Quick bit of advice (I got twotted by a car a couple of years back), keep a pain diary tracking both your physical symptoms and your mental state. Should they catch the moron and you get a chance to claim then this will help your case.

Firstly, sorry for not replying again sooner - I just wanted to forget about it all for a bit. Also, sorry for bringing another accident thread up to the front page (where has this recent spate come from? Are drivers aiming at cyclists without cameras or something?).

GWS Joe and don't sweat if you can't remember. Concussion is like that, some bits of the data get lost permanently when your brain gets powered off. I can probably total several days worth of concussion blanks!
I'm resigned to it not coming back to me now. I think the worst thing about it is not knowing if there was anything I could have done to avoid the accident, confounded by the very vague witness statement - "I'm not sure whether the car hit him, he hit the car, or he swerved to avoid the car and came off".

Overall I'm improving - my grazing is healing nicely (though very itchily - grr), and the gash on my head is sealing itself up. I've had a pain in my shoulder which is recessing again now, though my left arm is still quite weak.

It seems that me and buggi had the exact same accident, as one of the memories that's come back to me is being put on the spinal board and I seem to have a concussion manifesting itself in much the same way

Bike is now in the shop being checked over, aluminium frame, so all seems fine but I don't quite trust it to not have any pressure cracks.

Hey Joe,

Sorry to hear about the crash and reading about your injuries it sounds like a heck of a bump to say the least. Hope you're feeling a hell of a lot better.

Being aluminium can the bike not be fully restored for reasonable cost? I am innocent to the ins and outs of it - just know carbon can have unknown damage after an imapct.
