Might be getting a foldie from a pal in work. All i know it could be an oldie. All my bikes are oldies lol. But i was curious what shall i look for as i dont want it falling apart on me. All i was told was it had a sturnley archer gear setup. Which i quite like over standard stuff. So it was being power washed before i can see pics of it .More to follow.

God fella in work im getting it from was supposed to show me pics but his phone fell from his pocket and smashed to bits :headshake:anyhoo he cant remember the model he told me its dead light being aluminium.....which im guessing different things. So im stabbing at a bickerton or brompton. if its not so old and crappy condition and not worth the blood sweat n tears and the mood takes me i might "rat it " for giggles.

Aluminium and dead light rules out a Brompton.

Really didn't think they were heavyweights. Oh well that narrows things down. could be a raleigh 20/ stowaway or a clownbike from a circus who knows? As i said im getting it for giggles. Im 6ft3 and its for if i can get it into a workable state for a short ride to work. As i have walk or to haul a big Dutchbike over a railway bridge on my shoulder 4 sets of steps each side so it can be troublesome!.

If it's a Stowaway, you won't be too disappointed. They have a reputation for robustness and reliability, but not lightness.
Fold is not that great, but will be enough to fit into car boot.
Your height might be an issue, but some tall folk have persevered and made them fit with a few mods.
Looking forward to the pics :okay:

After seeing the pic of the foldie i was promised i now know to be a bickerton portable.. So in many minds i'd swap for a stowaway/20, sell, rat or leave it to be robbed. Hmm i dunno its the bars i don't like if im honest and im worried im too big. Looks a bit like a folding raleigh chopper. Any thoughts?
ps im in Belfast if the swap option is being talked about.
