Thought long and hard about things. Nah im too big and the ape hangers for me as ive tried to ride choppers in the past, motorised type. They are terrible to control!

I used to see a couple most morning in Hyde Park on Bickertons like this.
Neither looked particularly comfortable on them.

I think someone on here once mentioned they'd ridden one and it felt about as solid as cooked spaghetti.

Wondering again about a raleigh 20/stowaway or bsa variant. Probably not but wondering does anyone have such things closeby? Then again how much would be the postage on them lol

Diddy wheel Bromptons flop and flex like a cross trainer under my bulk.

It's generally only better Tern-style folders that feel solid under my immensely lardy backside rippling muscled form. Just looking and the box-girder Bickertons leaves me feeling seasick.

Many variants of the genre show up on e bay and gumtree at regular intervals, and I hear facebook has a dedicated forum and sales section.
Hopefully you'll find something local, could see postage fees exceeding the cost of the bike.

Couple of weeks back, was waiting in Reading town centre for a bus to Oxford.
Just down the road, a fella, possibly a rough sleeper or some such, was trying to assemble a Bickerton on the pavement as commuters rushed by in disbelief. He seemed to partially assemble it then throw it down again in frustration, over and over.
Really was a surreal image that morning, and a most unlikely bike for this drug addled fella to have.
Daresay it was freshly nicked, but what a challenge for the poor guy, and what entertainment for 10 minutes till the bus came.
Not wishing to mock these types, some have real issues going on in their lives.

Bickerton do a more conventional folder as well, the Argent. I believe it's actually made by Tern, but might have dreamed that. That has reasonable reviews for the way it rides.

I did look at a modern 'Bickerton' some years ago but as you say, I think it's just a badging exercise and they're made by someone else.

It was the Docklands 1824 Country I was looking at. I just thought they were better looking than the Dahons at the time. Despite being pretty much a clone or rebadged bike.
