Having started cycling to work in April, I'm now a little daunted about the prospect of riding home in the dark. Guess I will see if £47 was enough to pay for a pair of lights!

Guess you are going on unlit roads? I love night riding, enjoy! :okay:

I'm avoiding as many roads as I can for the next week or so while everyone gets used to driving in the dark. All my lights are charged, tested and fitted so it'll be hard not to see me (but they still manage it).

Well I'm blessed with a number of possible routes home but I agree with staying off the main roads until idiots in cars get used to the dark again. I'm always amazed this time of year how many cars have a blown headlamp bulb. When one goes on my car I replace it straightaway.

I have a couple of miles on an unlit harbour-side cycle lane so we'll see how that goes (slowly I'd imagine).

Spotted lots of nodders from my office riding with no lights who seem to have been caught out by the clocks going back. I wonder how many weeks it will take for some of them to bother investing in a cheapo pair of lights...

As for the dark, you only have to stick it out for 8 more weeks and then it starts getting lighter again.....

My husband said it was his first ride home in the dark tonight. I have been riding to work in the dark for weeks, luckily I come home in daylight.

I forgot how much I like riding in the dark until today. Shame that my front light wasn't charged because I too have country roads as a part of my route. This darkness will last for a few weeks before the sun starts shining again and order will be restored. Do you have anyone who you can ride with on the roads?

My lights are all charged up for tomorrow night's ride home - liking forward to it.

Don't like cycling to work in the dark as it reminds me that I should still be in bed though.

First dark ride for me.....since I was a kid 30 years ago. Was good...but ordered a front light tonight to go next to my lezyne 400. Took It a bit slower down the unlit canal towpath. Its alright spotting other bikes but pedestrians don't have lights and geese like to walk across the path too. Fantastic full moon helped too and I was mild and lovely.....that wont last no doubt.

Well it was interesting. The battery started to go on my brand new front Lezyne after about 45 mins so was annoyed about that. Evans have offered to look at it but it means sending it to them and I can't really be without it at the moment. Think I need another front light for the unlit cycle path. There's a stretch of about 100 yards through a wood and it was really spooky!

A rider came towards me, blinding me with a light I thought would suffice on the front of a train - I want one of those!

I wasn't very keen on the lezyne light set I bought last year. This year I bought a new Moon x power 600 light and it is much brighter. I've gone from a puny 100 lumens to 600 lumens and don't need to use it on full power.

My average speed tends to drop in the dark which I'll have to work on.

Plus I need to get a couple of Hope 1s as my current one is having a few issues.
